Raspadori Injured After Scoring Penalty for Atalanta Against Pafos

Giacomo Raspadori’s return to Atalanta’s matchday picture has suffered another interruption after the forward was forced off against Pafos.

Raspadori had stepped up to take the penalty that put Atalanta 2-0 ahead. Having converted, he celebrated briefly before signalling to the bench that he could not continue.

Quick facts

  • Raspadori was substituted after scoring Atalanta’s second goal from the spot against Pafos.
  • Charles De Ketelaere replaced him.
  • The forward had only recently returned from a low-grade strain to the right hamstring.
  • This is his second injury setback of the season.
  • Further examinations are expected to establish the precise nature of the new issue.

The incident came only days after the former Napoli attacker had resumed playing following his previous right-thigh problem. The concern now is that another physical stop has arrived before he could build continuity.

Charles De Ketelaere entered in his place as Atalanta managed the remainder of the game. The club will wait for medical checks before determining Raspadori’s condition and likely absence.

The setback adds to a difficult availability picture for Sarri, who is already without Hien, Scalvini, Kossounou, Kessié and Bellanova. In a long season, another injury to an attacking option further narrows the room for manoeuvre.
