Lamine Yamal Strikes Early as Spain Beat Czech Republic in Nations League

Under the lights in Oviedo, Lamine Yamal needed only six minutes to give Spain the perfect start against the Czech Republic. The 19-year-old winger, sharp throughout the Nations League window, delivered another moment of quality as the group race tightened.

Receiving the ball near the right edge of the penalty area, Yamal used a feint to create space before bending a left-footed effort across goal and high into the far corner. It was Spain’s opening goal in Asturias and his fourth strike of the current international gathering.

The Barcelona forward had already scored in Spain’s 3-2 win over England, then struck twice in the 4-1 victory against Croatia. England, Spain’s main challenger in League A Group 3, had earlier sent a message of their own by beating Croatia 7-0.

Yamal’s latest finish underlined his outstanding form for the Roja, with Spain again able to turn to their young wide player when the match was still finding its rhythm.
