Rosenior says chants crossed the line
Rosenior said he understood the emotion around his return against Strasbourg but felt the abuse had gone beyond acceptable limits.
“People who know me know that I have always been respectful,” he said. “I understand the context, but it went too far. Strasbourg are a great football club and I have always defended them. My celebration came from all of those reasons.”
In his post-match press conference, the English coach said only a small number of travelling supporters had disrespected his family. He was keen to separate those individuals from Strasbourg as a whole.
“I want to be very clear: it was only a small section,” Rosenior said. “Strasbourg is a fantastic club, with wonderful people who work there and support it. The way I celebrated was a message for the group of people who never wanted me to succeed at that club.”
Paris FC sit third after five matches
The result leaves Paris FC third in Ligue 1 with 11 points after five games. Rosenior’s side are next due to travel to Lorient on Saturday 10 October, with kick-off scheduled for 20:45.
Rosenior took charge of Strasbourg in the summer of 2024 before joining Chelsea in January. He was dismissed by the Blues in April and returned to French football with Paris FC this season.
