Liverpool Draw Chelsea in League Cup Fourth Round Showdown

The League Cup fourth-round draw was completed on Wednesday evening, setting up a heavyweight meeting at Anfield and giving lower-league sides further reason to look towards the final week of October.

Liverpool to host Chelsea in standout League Cup tie

Liverpool will play Chelsea at Anfield in the most eye-catching fixture of the fourth round. Chelsea, managed by Xabi Alonso, will face an Andoni Iraola-led Liverpool side in a meeting between two Spanish coaches.

Arsenal, the reigning English champions, have been paired with Fleetwood Town, the sole fourth-tier club left in the competition. The Gunners are due to travel to Fleetwood for that tie.

Manchester City or Norwich City will face Brighton. City and second-tier Norwich meet on Thursday at 8.30pm, with Brighton awaiting the winner after overturning their match against Manchester United on Wednesday.

Elsewhere, Everton have been drawn at home to Newcastle United, while Brentford will visit Sunderland.
