Macklin Celebrini Remains Game-Time Call for Sharks vs. Blues

Macklin Celebrini took the ice for San Jose’s morning skate Thursday and remains a game-time call when the Sharks visit the St. Louis Blues at Enterprise Center. The 20-year-old center is managing a lower-body injury ahead of the 8 p.m. ET faceoff.

Celebrini dressed for warmups Monday in Dallas but was ruled out before the Sharks’ 5-0 loss to the Stars. He then missed the next two practices before returning to the ice Thursday morning.

Coach Ryan Warsofsky said the issue was not sustained during Monday’s pregame skate.

“It didn’t happen in warmups,” Warsofsky said Tuesday. “It’s something we’ve been trying to manage for a little while.”

After the horn

San Jose enters the St. Louis matchup at 2-1-0, with Celebrini driving the club’s early offense when available. He opened the season with three assists in a 4-3 overtime win against the Florida Panthers, then added two more helpers in Saturday’s 5-4 overtime victory over the Los Angeles Kings.

The Sharks’ top pick from the 2024 NHL Draft is coming off a 115-point season, fourth-most in the NHL. He finished last year with 45 goals and 70 assists across all 82 games.

Through 154 NHL games, Celebrini has recorded 70 goals and 113 assists for 183 points.
