Manchester City Appeals Verdict Over 114 Financial Breaches

Manchester City moved to challenge the ruling on Thursday night, with the Premier League club confirming on Friday that it had lodged an appeal after an independent commission found it guilty of 114 financial breaches.

The move

The alleged breaches cover the period from 2009 to 2018 and were examined by a commission appointed by the Premier League.

City, owned by an Emirati fund, rejected the verdict and insisted it contests the accusations brought by the league.

In its statement, the club said it believed it was innocent and maintained that it possesses a full body of compelling evidence to support its position in the case.
