In Manchester, Old Trafford’s history is being placed into small glass urns as Manchester United look for new revenue during a difficult financial period.
The news from the club
Manchester United are offering members pieces of the stadium’s famous turf for £125 each. The fragments are presented in glass urns, turning part of the Old Trafford pitch into a limited club item for supporters.
The initiative comes as United seek additional income while their finances remain under pressure. Old Trafford, long one of European football’s most recognisable grounds, is being used here not only as a match venue but as a source of collectible memorabilia for the club’s membership base.
