Four straight Ligue 1 defeats have left Marseille needing a response under the lights at Troyes on Sunday night. With key players unavailable, Bruno Genesio has turned to two academy-age starters for the 20:45 kick-off.
Quick facts
- Marseille travel to Troyes on Sunday for a 20:45 Ligue 1 match.
- OM arrive after four consecutive league losses.
- Kelyann Bezahaf, 20, makes his first professional start at right-back.
- Nouhoum Kamissoko, 21, also receives his first senior start, in midfield.
- Angel Gomes starts behind striker Amine Gouiri, ahead of Neal Maupay.
Bezahaf is selected on the right side of the defence in place of Timothy Weah, who is suspended. It is a significant assignment for the 20-year-old, with Marseille searching for a result that could halt their damaging league run.
Kamissoko is handed responsibility in midfield after Pierre-Emile Højbjerg’s injury. The 21-year-old will make his senior starting debut as Genesio reshapes his side amid several absences.
Further forward, Gomes has been chosen to operate in support of Gouiri. Maupay begins outside the starting line-up as Marseille look for the attacking spark that has been missing during their four-match losing sequence.
The trip to Troyes now offers Genesio’s altered Marseille team an immediate test: a young pair given their first starts, and a club in urgent need of points.
