Marseille’s defeat to Paris Saint-Germain carried another cost on Sunday night, with Igor Paixao and Amine Harit both leaving the 2-1 match injured and now facing further medical checks.

Paixao was substituted after 30 minutes following an aerial challenge with Marquinhos. Marseille initially believed the left winger had hurt his ankle when he landed, but the issue has since been identified as a blow to the head of the fibula.
The Brazilian is also reporting muscular pain. He is due to undergo additional examinations on Tuesday, when Marseille expect to have a clearer idea of how long he could be unavailable.
Harit was taken off in the 63rd minute. Bruno Genesio initially suggested after the match that the midfielder had been suffering from cramps, but the problem is more serious than that.
The Morocco international has sustained a muscular injury and will have an MRI scan during the week. His potential absence will also depend on the result of those tests.
The next appointment in France
Marseille will wait for the medical results before assessing whether Paixao and Harit can be involved in their next Ligue 1 fixture. The club have not yet indicated an expected return date for either player.
