Napoli have welcomed Scott McTominay back to the training ground, opening the possibility of an early return after an enforced absence that has taken him out of three important league fixtures.
The coach and the club
The Scotland midfielder has resumed work at the SSC Napoli Training Center following treatment for a mild benign arrhythmia. McTominay underwent an ablation procedure to correct the condition and has now completed an individual gym session as part of his recovery.
The club confirmed his return to the training base, though his work remains personalised as Napoli monitor the next stages of rehabilitation.
- McTominay was sidelined after the discovery of a mild benign arrhythmia.
- He underwent a corrective ablation procedure.
- He has returned to Napoli’s training centre for individual gym work.
His absence has covered matches against Inter, Bologna and Fiorentina. If there are no setbacks in the recovery programme, Napoli could have him available as early as matchday six.
That round follows the international break and brings Frosinone onto Napoli’s schedule. McTominay will aim to be part of the squad for that appointment, giving the club a potential midfield return as the championship moves into its next phase.
