Arsenal have put a premium on continuity, handing Mikel Arteta a new deal and a salary package that places him at the summit of the Premier League coaching market.
Quick facts
- Arteta’s contract extension was confirmed on Wednesday.
- The Spaniard has managed Arsenal since 2019.
- His new annual pay is reported at £25 million, or around €29.5 million.
- He had previously earned approximately €17.9 million per season.
- Arteta has collected five trophies during his Arsenal reign.
The new agreement comes with a major financial upgrade. Arteta is set to receive £25 million a year, a figure equivalent to roughly €29.5 million and well above his former annual salary.
That package makes the 44-year-old the highest-paid manager in England’s top flight. It also puts him among the best-remunerated coaches in world football.
Only Atlético Madrid manager Diego Simeone, on an estimated €29.8 million per year, sits marginally above Arteta in the comparison. Al-Hilal boss Simone Inzaghi is reported to earn about €25.1 million annually.
Arteta took over at the London club in 2019 and has overseen a major rise in its standing, marked by five trophies and the Premier League title. Arsenal’s extension underlines the value placed on the Spanish coach’s work as the club looks to preserve that momentum.
