Milan travel to Udine for the eighth round of Serie A with Rúben Amorim forced into another reshuffle, as three fresh fitness concerns have lengthened an already difficult injury list.
Adrien Rabiot, Mario Gila and Moreira will not be available for the match against Udinese. Their absences follow Thursday’s Europa League trip to Bournemouth and leave Amorim without seven players at a demanding point in the season.
Quick facts
- Milan face Udinese in Serie A’s eighth matchday.
- Rabiot, Gila and Moreira have been ruled out after the Europa League fixture at Bournemouth.
- They join Terracciano, Gabbia, Saelemaekers and Chukwueze on the unavailable list.
- Rabiot has a right calf issue, Moreira a problem in his left hamstring area, while Gila is managing inflammation in his left ankle.
- No return dates have been announced for the three new absentees.
The most significant setback concerns Rabiot, who has made a strong start to the campaign. The French midfielder has reported muscle fatigue in his right calf, removing an important presence from Amorim’s midfield options.
Moreira has also been held back as a precaution after suffering fatigue in the flexor muscle of his left thigh. Gila’s case is different, with the defender dealing with inflammation caused by overload in his left ankle.
Milan have not put a timetable on any of the three recoveries. The decision to leave them behind appears designed to prevent minor physical complaints becoming longer absences during a schedule already split between league and European commitments.
For Amorim, the immediate task is to find a side capable of handling Udinese without Rabiot’s influence and with further gaps across the squad. Terracciano, Gabbia, Saelemaekers and Chukwueze were already unavailable before the latest setbacks.
It leaves the coach balancing Sunday afternoon points against the wider rhythm of Milan’s season. In Udine, the squad depth will be tested again, with the priority now not only to negotiate the eighth round but also to bring the injured group back without further complications.
