Milan vs Atalanta: Ramos Leads Amorim’s Attack in Serie A Clash

Milan and Atalanta meet in Serie A’s seventh round with both coaches making clear selections for a significant early-season afternoon. Ruben Amorim has entrusted Milan’s attack to Ramos, supported by Adrien Rabiot and Christian Pulisic.

Quick facts

  • Fixture: Milan v Atalanta, Serie A matchday seven.
  • Milan coach: Ruben Amorim.
  • Atalanta coach: Maurizio Sarri.
  • Milan start Mike Maignan in goal.
  • Marco Carnesecchi is Atalanta’s goalkeeper.

Amorim has set Maignan behind a three-man defensive line of Mario Gila, Koni De Winter and Strahinja Pavlovic. Samuel Chukwueze and Moreira are positioned on the flanks, with Yunus Musah and Luka Modric operating through midfield.

Further forward, Rabiot and Pulisic will work behind Ramos. It is a Milan side combining Modric’s experience with the direct qualities of Chukwueze and Pulisic as the home team look to impose themselves on the contest.

Sarri’s Atalanta begin with Carnesecchi protected by Raoul Bellanova, Thomas Kristensen, Sead Kolasinac and Bernasconi. Mario Pasalic, Ederson and Lazar Samardzic make up the central midfield unit.

Charles De Ketelaere faces his former club as part of Atalanta’s attacking three, alongside Nikola Krstovic and Rowe. Sarri’s selection gives the visitors movement across the front line as they seek a result in Milan.
