Napoli Use Break to Rebuild Depth Ahead of Key Fixtures

Napoli’s pause is not being treated as a break from the season, but as a chance to rebuild depth before the next demanding run of fixtures. Massimiliano Allegri’s squad must resume with greater momentum, while also beginning to make progress in the Champions League standings.

Recovery work before the next run

The priority in the days ahead is to bring more players fully into contention. Several members of the squad have had limited involvement during the opening month, and Napoli will need them as domestic and European commitments begin to overlap.

  1. Scott McTominay returned to work on the previous day, adding another option for Allegri.
  2. The squad completed gym work before moving onto the pitch for change-of-direction exercises.
  3. Sam Beukema and Benoît Badiashile are among the players Napoli hope to restore to full condition during the pause.
  4. David Neres is also being monitored closely, with the Brazilian needing match minutes and sharper physical condition after his limited early-season contribution.
  5. Napoli are attempting to arrange two friendly matches for next week, principally to help those players regain rhythm and competitive fitness.

The coming fixtures will leave little room for gradual adaptation. Napoli need a broader group ready to contribute, particularly as the club look to improve their Champions League position alongside their league commitments.

Maradona ticket sales begin

Preparations are also under way off the pitch for Napoli’s home meeting with Frosinone at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on 10 October.

The first phase of ticket sales has opened and will remain available until 30 September. With a heavy period approaching, Napoli will again look to their home support to carry the side through another important stage of the campaign.
