Newcastle United’s black-and-white colours travelled far beyond Tyneside with Benjamin Satterley, known around the world of professional wrestling as PAC and Neville. Following his death, the club he supported has joined the tributes to a performer whose attachment to Newcastle and England was regularly visible away from the ring.
Newcastle said it was deeply saddened by the news and recalled welcoming Satterley and his family to St James’ Park in 2014. The club offered its condolences to his relatives and to everyone close to him, marking the loss of a supporter who wore his allegiance plainly whenever the occasion allowed.
Satterley was recognised internationally for his ability and presence in wrestling, but football remained a visible part of his public life. Newcastle shirts appeared in recordings and in moments shared with fellow performers, while England colours also featured prominently in his appearances.
In his later work with Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, he wore England’s shirt during AEW Grand Slam Mexico and the 2026 International Grand Prix, using the national colours to playfully engage Mexican fans around the England-Mexico meeting at the 2026 World Cup.
Beyond those appearances, he was seen at St James’ Park backing Newcastle and travelled to the World Cup to support the Three Lions as England secured a historic victory at Estadio Ciudad de México.
Messages of sympathy and admiration have continued to arrive from across wrestling, where Satterley’s sudden death has left colleagues and friends shaken. No official cause of death has yet been announced, with further communication from AEW still awaited.
