The NFC North enters Sunday of Week 6 as the NFL’s deepest division, with Minnesota unbeaten at 5-0 and Green Bay, Detroit and Chicago all sitting at 3-2 in the current playoff field.
What changed for the franchise
Minnesota holds the NFC’s top seed despite being off this weekend, while Detroit also has a bye after putting up 45 points in a road victory. That leaves the Packers and Bears carrying the division’s on-field slate Sunday.
Green Bay will host the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football in a matchup that could turn into a high-scoring game. Chicago travels to face an Atlanta team that has begun to find momentum.
The division has established a recent standard for depth. Two seasons ago, the Lions finished 15-2, the Vikings went 14-3 and the Packers ended 11-6, with all three reaching the postseason. Last season, every NFC North club completed the year with a winning record, making it the league’s only division to accomplish that feat.
With four teams currently positioned for the playoffs, the race remains tightly packed behind the undefeated Vikings. The Packers, Lions and Bears are all holding wild-card positions at 3-2, ensuring that divisional games and conference tiebreakers could carry major weight over the coming weeks.
