Nico González Extends Juventus Contract Until 2030

Turin has secured one of its Argentine attacking options for the longer journey ahead, with Nico González committing his future to Juventus until 30 June 2030.

The 28-year-old winger has agreed a new deal with the Bianconeri, extending a relationship that began in the summer of 2024. The renewal follows a season spent on loan at Atlético de Madrid, where a permanent move was not completed because of the size of the purchase option.

A longer stay in Turin

  1. Juventus and González began their association in the summer of 2024.
  2. The Argentine later joined Atlético on loan for last season, but the Madrid club decided not to trigger the agreed permanent-transfer clause.
  3. Despite Diego Simeone’s wish to retain the player, the financial terms prevented Atlético from making the move permanent.
  4. Juventus have now formalised an extension that keeps González under contract through the end of June 2030.

Reports in Italy indicate that the agreement includes a substantial salary increase. Luciano Spalletti played an important role in González’s decision to continue with the Turin club.

Numbers and attacking value

Across his Juventus spell, González has made 45 appearances and scored seven goals. He has also started the current campaign brightly, recording two goals in five matches.

Juventus believe those early-season contributions have underlined the case for keeping him as part of their plans. In announcing the contract, the club said González brings unpredictability and tactical answers in attack, while his experience and character make him an important presence both on the pitch and around the squad.

For Atlético, the failed purchase option leaves the Argentine further from a return to the Spanish capital. For Juventus, the new contract turns a short-term question after his Madrid loan into a commitment intended to run through the end of the decade.
