Lisbon’s evening turned sharply for Norway goalkeeper Orjan Nyland as Portugal took control of a match that had briefly been level through Erling Haaland. The Leipzig player, formerly of Sevilla, was involved in two costly moments outside his penalty area against Gonçalo Ramos, although video review spared him a second conceded goal.

Portugal goalkeeper Diogo Costa sent a long clearance forward four minutes after the first mistake. Nyland again advanced beyond his box, but missed his attempted clearance as Ramos reached the ball first and rolled another finish into the vacant goal.
The referee initially allowed the second effort to stand. VAR then intervened and cancelled it, with Ramos judged to have begun the move narrowly beyond the last Norwegian defender.
