Odegaard recalls Madrid support
Norway captain Martin Odegaard was asked after the match about Ronaldo’s place on the bench, but preferred to focus on the influence the Portuguese had on him during their time together at Real Madrid.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is a role model for me in every way,” Odegaard said. “He was very kind to me and helped me a great deal as a player at Real Madrid. I will not forget that. Every child dreams of playing with him. Being close to him and playing alongside him was incredible.”
Odegaard arrived at the Bernabeu at a very young age and said Ronaldo’s guidance during that period was important to him, an experience he intends to carry with him for the rest of his career.
