From Padua to the Gulf, Papu Gómez is taking the next step in a career that has crossed much of the football map. The Argentina international, part of the squad that won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, has ended his contract with Padova and will continue in the United Arab Emirates.
Gómez’s new destination is in the UAE second division, bringing his time in Italy to a close. The name of his next club has not been specified, but the move opens a new chapter for the 2022 world champion in a country that remains closely connected to Argentina’s greatest recent international triumph.
