Under the lights at Auxerre, Pathé Mboup produced the kind of finish that stays with a forward long after the final whistle. Brest’s 22-year-old Senegalese attacker struck a superb right-footed volley to score his second Ligue 1 goal.
Mboup’s moment came from a long delivery by Joris Chotard. The Brest forward brought the ball down with his thigh before sending a crossed volley beyond the goalkeeper with his right foot, completing a technically demanding move in one fluid sequence.
It was Mboup’s 33rd appearance in Ligue 1 and only his second goal in the division. His first had arrived on 23 November 2025, when Brest beat Metz 3-2, but the finish at Auxerre offered a different kind of landmark: a goal built from control, timing and a clean strike under pressure.
