PWHL Reveals Inaugural Jerseys for Detroit, Hamilton, Las Vegas and San Jose

The PWHL’s four incoming clubs have their first sweaters, bringing distinct local color to Detroit, Hamilton, Las Vegas and San Jose ahead of the league’s 2026-27 campaign.

Detroit will open in black at home, Hamilton in a gold-led palette, Las Vegas in green and San Jose in mandarin orange. Each club will use a white road jersey, and every inaugural design carries the city name diagonally across the front.

Quick facts

  • Detroit’s colors are black, white, silver and red.
  • Hamilton uses gold, deep red, burnt orange and cream.
  • Las Vegas wears green, gold and navy.
  • San Jose features mandarin orange and sky blue.
  • All 12 PWHL teams are scheduled to play during the Dec. 5-6 opening weekend.

PWHL Detroit’s red detail is a nod to the city’s Hockeytown identity, while the overall black, white, silver and red scheme also references the 313 area code. The Red Wings shared video of players seeing the new sweaters, with a positive reaction from the group.

Hamilton drew from the city’s sporting history. Its gold, dark red, burnt orange and cream combination takes inspiration from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, the former Hamilton Bulldogs and the old NHL Hamilton Tigers.

Las Vegas selected green, gold and navy to reflect Nevada’s landscape. Green will be the home look, with white reserved for road dates.

San Jose’s orange-and-blue identity pulls from the city flag and the region’s orange-growing past. The club will skate in mandarin orange at home and white on the road.

Names and logos for all four expansion teams are still to come and will be revealed before the 2026-27 season begins.

The PWHL’s fourth season starts the weekend of Dec. 5-6. Hamilton opens against reigning Walter Cup champion Montreal Victoire on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. ET at Place Bell in Montreal.

San Jose also begins Saturday, hosting the Minnesota Frost at SAP Center in a 7 p.m. ET faceoff. Detroit and Las Vegas meet Sunday, Dec. 6, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with puck drop set for 8 p.m. ET.
