Róger Guedes Scores 200th Club Goal in Al-Rayyan AFC Victory

In Al-Rayyan’s colours, Róger Guedes has reached a round number that spans a career from southern Brazil to Doha. The Brazilian forward scored his 200th senior club goal as the Qatari side began their AFC Champions League Two group campaign with a 4-3 win over Al-Faisaly.

The news from the club

Guedes struck in the 22nd minute, scoring Al-Rayyan’s second goal in a seven-goal opening-night contest. The finish took him to 200 career goals and continued an especially productive opening to the 2026/27 season.

“Reaching 200 goals is a unique feeling,” Guedes said. “It comes from a great deal of work and dedication, but all honour and glory belong to God. I am doing what He gave me the gift to do, and I am very thankful to experience this moment.”

The 29-year-old has scored seven times in six appearances this season, finding the net in four matches. His returns include two goals against Al-Shamal, one against Al-Duhail, a double against Al-Ahli and the goal against Al-Faisaly. He has also supplied one assist.

His scoring record since arriving in Qatar has been remarkably steady. Guedes registered 23 goals in 26 matches during his first Al-Rayyan campaign in 2023/24, followed by 31 in 39 outings in 2024/25. Last season, he again reached 31 goals, this time in only 32 appearances.

A journey through Brazilian football to Doha

Guedes joined Al-Rayyan in 2023 after leaving Corinthians, where he became a prominent figure during his spell in São Paulo. His Brazilian career also included periods with Criciúma, Palmeiras and Atlético Mineiro.

Now established in Doha, the former Corinthians and Palmeiras attacker has added a continental victory to a personal milestone, with Al-Rayyan’s Champions League Two campaign beginning in winning fashion.
