Randal Kolo Muani has undergone surgery on a fractured finger after Juventus’ 2-0 win over Atalanta, with the international break offering the French forward valuable recovery time.

The former Ligue 1 striker suffered the injury during Sunday evening’s victory against Atalanta Bergamo. Kolo Muani began the match as Juventus’ central forward and stayed on the pitch until the 89th minute, when defender Lloyd Kelly replaced him.
Juventus moved quickly to have the 32-cap France international operated on Monday. The procedure is intended to speed up his return, following the finger fracture sustained in the match.
Kolo Muani was not included in Zinédine Zidane’s first France squad for the international gathering that started on Monday. The 9-goal international should now have around two weeks to recover rather than joining the national-team camp.
His absence comes at a difficult time for Juventus, who are already without Kenan Yildiz, Khéphren Thuram, Manuel Locatelli and Polish goalkeeper Kamil Grabara.
Juventus’ next appointment
Juventus return to Serie A at Cagliari on 11 October after the international window. Kolo Muani is expected to be available for that fixture if his recovery proceeds as planned.
