In Barcelona, Raphinha’s sharp start to the campaign has brought thoughts of a much longer stay in Catalonia. The Brazilian forward is contracted to the club until June 2028, but says he would be delighted to remain at Barça for the rest of his playing career.
The news from the club
Raphinha has spoken about the possibility of another extension after president Joan Laporta indicated an interest in reopening discussions over his deal.
The attacker explained that his 2028 agreement had initially been signed with the expectation that he would be around 30 or 31 by its conclusion, uncertain about what stage of his career he would then be entering. His encouraging beginning to the season, however, has changed that outlook.
He said he now feels there could still be several years ahead of him and would be very happy to extend his Barcelona commitment again.
Raphinha’s form has already included two goals in Barcelona’s victory over Feyenoord, a performance that underlined his early influence on the side. The club’s attacking group is also set to include Gabriel Jesus.
