Roma Revive January Loan Pursuit for Real Madrid’s Endrick

Rome is preparing another approach for Endrick as the January window comes into view, with the Brazilian forward again on Roma’s radar after an earlier move from Real Madrid fell through. The Italian club are working towards a loan arrangement that could bring the 20-year-old to the capital for the second half of the European season.

A January route back onto the table

Roma had come close to taking Endrick after the World Cup, but José Mourinho asked the forward to stay in Madrid and fight for his place at Real. Endrick remained in Spain with the intention of establishing himself at the Bernabéu.

That plan has been complicated by the start of his campaign. An injury ruled him out of the opening matches, and he has since had limited playing time, with much of it spent among the substitutes.

  • Roma want to revisit the possibility of signing Endrick when the winter transfer market opens in January.
  • The proposed deal would be a loan from Real Madrid.
  • The Brazilian is 20 and has found minutes difficult to come by after his early-season injury.
  • Mourinho’s previous request was central to Endrick remaining with Real Madrid rather than moving to Italy.

Champions League meeting in Italy

Roma and Real Madrid will meet in Italy in the Champions League on 14 October. The fixture is expected to give the clubs an opportunity to discuss the forward’s situation directly, with Roma hoping to make progress towards an agreement before the January opening.

For the Roman club, the attraction is clear: a striker already accustomed to a demanding European environment, but in need of a regular platform. A temporary spell in Serie A would also offer Endrick a route back into match rhythm without closing the door on his longer-term Real Madrid ambition.

French form and Brazil’s next cycle

Endrick’s recent career has already taken him across the continent. Last season, he left Real Madrid for Lyon and became a regular starter in France. His performances there earned him a World Cup call-up from Carlo Ancelotti.

Despite his restricted involvement for Real Madrid this season, he has remained part of Brazil’s plans. He appeared in both friendlies against Australia as the national side began its build-up towards the 2030 World Cup, registering an assist across those matches.

  • Endrick established himself as a starter during his spell with Lyon last season.
  • Carlo Ancelotti selected him for the World Cup following that French campaign.
  • He has since featured in Brazil’s two Australia friendlies and supplied one assist.
