Saquon Barkley took a significant step toward returning for the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday, completing a full practice as he manages a hamstring injury ahead of Monday night’s NFC East meeting with the Dallas Cowboys.
The All-Pro running back remains listed as questionable after limited participation on Thursday and Friday. Barkley has missed Philadelphia’s last two games after being hurt in the Week 4 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
- Saquon Barkley — Questionable, hamstring; practiced fully Saturday.
- DeVonta Smith — Out, hamstring.
- Dontayvion Wicks — Out, ankle.
- Dallas Goedert — Available after sitting out the first two practices of the week.
- Jalen Hurts — On injured reserve with blood clots; recovery is expected to likely keep him sidelined for the remainder of the season.
- Tank Bigsby — On injured reserve.
- Will Shipley — On injured reserve.
Barkley’s absence has coincided with a difficult stretch for Philadelphia. The Eagles have dropped four consecutive games, while the roster has also lost right tackle Lane Johnson to retirement and seen Hurts, Bigsby and Shipley placed on injured reserve.
In his two healthy appearances this season, Barkley has totaled 165 rushing yards and averaged 5.5 yards per carry. He has yet to score a touchdown. Philadelphia’s ground game managed only 22 rushing yards in one of the two games he missed and 35 in the other.
If Barkley cannot play, Dameon Pierce is expected to take the lead role in the Eagles’ depleted backfield.
Week ahead: Eagles face Cowboys on Monday night
Philadelphia enters the division game at 2-4, matching Dallas’ 2-4 record. Despite the Eagles’ four-game skid, both clubs remain in contention in an NFC East that has lacked a clear front-runner.
The Eagles and Cowboys are scheduled to kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET on Monday.
