The Seattle Seahawks have placed rookie running back Jadarian Price on injured reserve with a chest injury, removing the first-round pick from the lineup for at least four games.
What changed for the franchise
Price hurt his chest in Week 2 and aggravated the issue during practice this week. The move comes after a difficult opening stretch for the final selection of the 2026 first round.
The rookie started all three of Seattle’s games but produced 119 rushing yards on 28 attempts. He also lost fumbles in consecutive games while sharing backfield work with Emanuel Wilson and George Holani. Price played 35.8 percent of the Seahawks’ offensive snaps through the first three weeks.
With Price sidelined, Wilson and Holani are set to carry the immediate workload in Seattle’s running game. The Seahawks could also soon add another option: Zach Charbonnet has returned to practice after his 21-day activation window was opened earlier this week.
Charbonnet is continuing his recovery from a torn ACL after recording 730 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns last season. Once Price is cleared to return, Seattle expects him to rejoin a crowded group that includes Wilson, Holani and potentially Charbonnet.
Next kickoff
Seattle faces the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, with Wilson and Holani expected to lead the backfield in Price’s absence.
