Serie A Matchday 6: Atalanta, Juventus and Napoli Hit by Injuries

Matchday 6 arrives with suspension lists clear across Serie A, but medical rooms still shaping the options available to several coaches. No club has a player ruled out through a ban, leaving injuries and fitness assessments as the decisive selection issue for the coming weekend.

Atalanta, Juventus and Napoli face the heaviest absences

Atalanta will be without Hien, Kossounou and Pompei until around Matchday 12, while Raspadori is targeting a return for Matchday 7. Kamaldeen Sulemana remains under assessment.

Juventus have a particularly long injury list. Yildiz is expected back around Matchday 13 and Thuram around Matchday 19, while Ekhator could return for Matchday 10. Cabal and Owusu are both provisionally due back in Matchday 7. Boga is aiming for Matchday 11, but Locatelli and Grabara face far longer waits, with projected returns in Matchdays 28 and 29 respectively.

Napoli must monitor Olivera and McTominay, whose situations are still to be evaluated. Buongiorno and Vergara are expected to be available again around Matchday 10, Alisson Santos around Matchday 8, Favasuli around Matchday 12 and Anguissa in Matchday 7.

Milan’s main confirmed absence is Saelemaekers, whose recovery timetable extends to approximately Matchday 25. Monza will also have to plan without Pessina until Matchday 10 and Ziólkowski until Matchday 9, while Touré and Ciurria remain fitness doubts.

Season-ending setback for Felici

Cagliari have suffered the most definitive blow of the round, with Felici ruled out for the remainder of the season. Idrissi, Trepy and Kevin Carlos are all still being assessed, while Deiola is not expected to return before Matchday 12.

Bologna will continue without Odgaard, who is working towards a Matchday 8 return, and Holm, whose absence is expected to run until Matchday 22.

Fiorentina’s Parisi is projected to return in Matchday 13. Como, meanwhile, have no injury concerns listed for this round.

Hellas Verona are waiting on the conditions of Grillitsch, Bîrligea and Raimondo, with no return dates yet established.

Genoa and Lazio await medical clarity

Genoa’s list includes several uncertain cases: Venturino, Meichtry and Sow will need further checks. Nuredini could return around Matchday 10, Havel in Matchday 7 and Colombo in Matchday 9.

Lazio are also dealing with a group of unresolved fitness issues. Gudmundsson, Cataldi, Rovella, Przyborek, Cancellieri and Marusic all remain subject to evaluation before the next league programme.

Inter have Stones as a doubt, while Jones is expected to be out until Matchday 8. Lecce have Berisha under observation, without a confirmed timetable.

Roma should regain Cristante around Matchday 7. Parma are monitoring Nicolussi Caviglia and Almqvist, both of whom remain uncertain for Matchday 6.

Late autumn and winter targets elsewhere

Sassuolo’s medical picture is dominated by pending assessments. Pieragnolo, Candé, Ismaël Koné, Walukiewicz, Paz, Idzes and Boloca are all listed as doubts, while Volpato is aiming to return in Matchday 7.

Torino will assess Israel and Adams before deciding their availability. Udinese have Piotrowski and Arizala under review, while Zaniolo is expected back around Matchday 8. Gueye’s return is projected considerably later, in Matchday 17.

Venezia have Sverko targeting Matchday 8, Busio Matchday 12 and Franjic Matchday 15. Dagasso, Basic, Haps, Adorante, Bella-Kotchap and Schingtienne are all still awaiting clearer medical updates.

With no disciplinary absences to complicate the weekend, the decisive work will be done on training pitches and in final fitness tests. For a number of Serie A benches, Matchday 6 will be less about replacing suspended players than judging which recovering figures can safely return to the championship’s weekly rhythm.
