Simone Inzaghi Celebrates Saudi National Day in Al-Hilal Traditional Dress

Simone Inzaghi’s first year away from Inter has brought a different footballing calendar and a new set of club customs. Now in charge of Al-Hilal on a two-year contract, the former Inter coach marked Saudi National Day by wearing traditional Saudi dress.

A new setting after Inter

Saudi National Day is a non-religious public holiday observed each year on 23 September. Inzaghi joined the celebrations in traditional clothing, another sign of his adaptation to life in Saudi Arabia after leaving Inter.

The Italian coach, who collected major honours during his time with the Nerazzurri, accepted Al-Hilal’s two-year offer last year. His first campaign delivered immediate silverware in the King Cup of Champions.

A league race that turned

  1. Al-Hilal built a seven-point advantage during the league season under Inzaghi.
  2. The lead was subsequently overturned by Al Nassr.
  3. Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr secured the championship on 21 May, denying Inzaghi the league title in his first Saudi season.

The cup success ensured that Inzaghi’s opening chapter at Al-Hilal did not pass without a trophy, but the lost league lead leaves the next season with a clearer competitive edge. For a coach accustomed to the weekly pressure of Serie A, the task remains familiar: turn a strong side and an early advantage into a campaign that lasts until the final Sunday.
