Solanas Punta del Este is preparing to welcome amateur teams from across South America for the fourth edition of the South American Amateur Football Cup, adding another cross-border football gathering to Uruguay’s coastal calendar.
The tournament will be staged in Solanas, near Punta del Este, where players and travelling groups will come together for a festival centred on amateur football rather than the professional game. Registration for the upcoming edition is already open.
Organisers have presented the event as an opportunity for teams from around the continent to meet, compete and share a football weekend in one of Uruguay’s best-known seaside destinations. Further details on participating clubs, match dates and the competition format have not yet been announced.
