Juventus returned to winning ways in Serie A with a 2-0 home victory over Atalanta, but the final whistle at the Stadium also brought together two figures linked by Napoli’s title-winning season.
Juventus find their response
After the difficult league defeat to Sassuolo, Juventus produced the result they needed against Atalanta. Francisco Conceicao and Bremer scored the goals that settled the match, allowing the Bianconeri to celebrate with their supporters at full time.
It was a significant afternoon in the rhythm of the championship: a response from Juventus after a setback, and a defeat for an Atalanta side unable to alter the contest after the interval.
A reunion after the final whistle
- Once referee Zufferli brought the match to an end, Luciano Spalletti went onto the pitch to greet Juventus players and their Atalanta opponents.
- Among those he met was Giacomo Raspadori, who had entered the game in the 63rd minute but could not make a decisive contribution for Atalanta.
- Spalletti and Raspadori shared a warm embrace, recalling their time together at Napoli and with the Italy national team.
The meeting carried the memory of the 2022-23 campaign, when Napoli won the Scudetto under Spalletti. Raspadori had joined the club that season and played an important part in the run to the title.
One of his defining moments came against Juventus on 23 April 2023, when he scored in the 93rd minute to deliver a crucial Napoli victory. On this occasion, however, the two met from opposing sides: Spalletti with Juventus, Raspadori representing Atalanta.
Juventus had the points, while the embrace provided a quieter reminder of a Scudetto story they had once written together.
