USA Basketball is bringing an 88-player junior national team pool to Colorado Springs for an October minicamp that will put four high school classes through three days of skill work, scrimmaging and off-court education.
Colorado Springs camp set for Oct. 9-11
The men’s junior national team minicamp is scheduled for Oct. 9-11 at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center. The invitees come from the graduating classes of 2027 through 2030, with the Men’s Developmental National Team committee selecting both the players and coaching staff.
The gym work will include player development sessions and competitive runs, but the camp schedule reaches beyond basketball. USA Basketball staff, NBA Player Development representatives, NCAA personnel and other speakers will conduct sessions on media responsibilities, NCAA eligibility rules, mental health and wellness, and financial planning. Morgan Stanley will lead the financial management portion.
Sean Ford, USA Basketball’s men’s national team director and chair of the committee, said the October gathering is designed to evaluate elite prospects for later junior national team opportunities while giving players and their parents resources for the road ahead, on the floor and away from it.
