Villarreal vs Napoli: How to Watch Champions League Clash Live

Napoli arrive in Spain with their domestic campaign beginning to find its footing, but the Champions League has already placed a different demand on Massimiliano Allegri’s side. Tuesday night at the Estadio de la Cerámica offers the chance to answer their opening European defeat and turn a useful Serie A weekend into momentum beyond Italy.

Napoli seek a first European result

1. Napoli began their Champions League league-phase campaign with a 1-0 loss to Arsenal on 9 September.
2. They responded in Serie A at the weekend, beating Frosinone 3-0 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
3. That victory took the Partenopei to eighth place, with 10 points from their first six league matches.
4. Allegri’s team now travel to Villarreal for matchday two of the Champions League league phase, with kick-off scheduled for 21:00 Italian time on Tuesday 13 October 2026.

Kevin De Bruyne and his Napoli team-mates will face a Villarreal side also looking for stability at the start of a new technical cycle. The Spanish club appointed Iñigo Pérez during the summer, handing the 38-year-old his first major European campaign as a coach.

It will be Pérez’s second match as a manager in Europe’s leading club competition. His opening game ended in defeat against Borussia Dortmund, one of five losses recorded by Villarreal so far this season. They have also drawn twice and won only two matches.

Villarreal’s difficult opening months

Villarreal come into the fixture after a narrow 1-0 Liga defeat to Real Madrid at the Bernabéu. The meeting with Napoli therefore carries weight for both clubs: Napoli need their first Champions League win of the season, while the home side are attempting to give their new project a more convincing early direction.

German official Daniel Siebert will referee the match at the Estadio de la Cerámica.
