RC Lens have continued to reshape their coaching set-up from within, with reserve-team manager Vincent Carlier joining Yannick Cahuzac’s first-team staff as an assistant.
Carlier, 46, had led Lens’ reserve side since 2022 and moves up after Cahuzac was installed as head coach shortly before the break. The Corsican took charge following the departure of Dino Toppmöller, whose assistants Nelson Morgado and Ervin Skela also left the club.
Rather than look outside the club for another member of Cahuzac’s staff, Lens have again opted for an internal solution. Carlier will work alongside Bilal Hamdi as Cahuzac builds his coaching group for the next stage of the season.
The change also creates a new opening with the reserves. Walid Mesloub, previously Carlier’s deputy, has been promoted to take charge of the second team.
