Wales found its way back into the evening against Norway, turning a difficult start into a 2-1 UEFA Nations League win that brought relief to the camp and its first points in League A Group 4.
The news from the club
Norway made the sharper opening and struck after 11 minutes through Oscar Bobb, whose finish put the visitors ahead and left Wales chasing the match for much of the first half.
The Welsh response arrived before the interval. Daniel James levelled in the 38th minute, ensuring the sides returned from the dressing rooms with the contest reset rather than Norway protecting its advantage.
Three minutes after the restart, Neco Williams completed the turnaround. His 48th-minute goal made it 2-1, giving Wales a lead they would preserve despite Norway’s attempts to force another way back into the game.
The result ends a six-match winless sequence for Wales, which had included four defeats and two draws. It was also their first success in Group 4, lifting them level with Norway on three points.
The next Nations League stops
Wales will try to carry the momentum into its next Nations League fixture against Denmark. Norway, meanwhile, faces a demanding trip to Portugal as it looks to recover ground in the group.
