Walker Kessler’s first preseason run with the Lakers was brief, productive and confined to the opening half Tuesday. The center posted 11 points, nine rebounds, one block and one steal in his debut appearance.
Quick facts
- 11 points in his Lakers preseason debut
- Shot 4-for-6 from the field
- Collected nine rebounds before halftime
- Added one block and one steal
- Did not play after the break
Kessler was active around the rim on both ends, coming within one rebound of a double-double despite his limited workload. He converted four of his six attempts and gave Los Angeles a strong interior presence during his first-half minutes.
The Lakers kept him out for the second half, leaving his preseason debut as an efficient early snapshot rather than an extended rotation test. Still, the production gave Kessler a solid opening line in purple and gold.
