Walter Benitez produced a pivotal save as Crystal Palace turned a difficult afternoon against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
The Ligue 1 news
Nottingham Forest had gone ahead through Switzerland forward Dan Ndoye and then came within inches of doubling their lead during a rapid counter-attack.
Morgan Gibbs-White received the ball on the edge of the Palace penalty area and struck the crossbar with his right foot. Liam Delap was in position when the rebound fell close to goal, but Benitez recovered quickly to make an outstanding stop.
The intervention changed the momentum. Palace went on to score twice, in the 41st minute and in first-half stoppage time, to move 2-1 ahead.
Benitez joined Crystal Palace from PSV in the summer of 2025. His save denied Forest the chance to establish a two-goal cushion and left the visitors facing another difficult moment in their attempt to climb away from the bottom of the Premier League table.
