Serie A resumes for its seventh round with the early contours of the season beginning to show: Atalanta’s attacking momentum, Inter’s growing faith in a young forward and Cagliari’s unexpected consistency will all be tested across a weekend that runs from Frosinone to Parma.
A round stretched across four days
- Frosinone and Sassuolo open matchday seven on Friday 16 October, with kick-off scheduled for 20:45.
- The programme also includes two prominent fixtures, Milan against Atalanta and Juventus against Lazio.
- Monday brings the final two matches: Monza host Cagliari at 18:30, before Parma face Torino at 20:45.
Krstovic carries Atalanta form to San Siro
Nikola Krstovic arrives at Milan after the standout individual display of the previous round. The Montenegrin forward scored twice and created another goal as Atalanta beat Venezia, producing a fantasy score of 14.5, the highest recorded in matchday six.
Atalanta’s selection decisions will also be influenced by the Conference League meeting with Pafos, yet leaving Krstovic out after such an influential performance would be difficult. The visit to San Siro represents a more demanding examination, although Milan have kept only two clean sheets so far.
Amorim’s side have also shown vulnerability from set pieces, an area that may encourage Atalanta as they prepare for the weekend’s major fixture. Krstovic is priced at 60 credits.
Esposito is becoming more than Inter’s reserve option
Pio Esposito’s position in Inter’s attacking hierarchy has strengthened over the opening six rounds. Apart from the match against Roma, he has received a fantasy rating in every league appearance, while his contribution for Italy during the international break further underlined his progress.
He has moved ahead of Bonny and has started on several occasions, rotating with Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram. Two goals and one assist have given him an average fantasy rating of 7.9, with four satisfactory scores from five rated outings.
For Chivu, Esposito is increasingly a third starter rather than simply a player used late in matches or during rotation. Inter’s European exertions against Bruges may affect the choices for the Bologna match, but Esposito is expected to feature, whether from the first whistle or off the bench. His valuation is 46 credits.
Mendy reflects Cagliari’s early-season surprise
Paul Mendy has been one of the quieter but significant figures in Cagliari’s encouraging start under Pisacane. The forward has been rated in all six league matches and has delivered five satisfactory performances.
His contributions have included a goal against Atalanta in round four and the assist for Maldini against Juventus last time out. Those returns have helped him to an average fantasy rating of 6.9.
Cagliari travel to Monza seeking to extend an unbeaten sequence that currently stands at four games. Mendy could face competition from Nzola for a place in the starting side, but he is still expected to take part.
His price has risen from five credits at the beginning of the campaign to 15 credits now. With regular involvement and two bonus-producing actions already, further growth will depend on whether Cagliari can carry their early rhythm into the next chapter of the season.
