Week 6 fantasy lineups will be shaped by quarterback uncertainty, major bye-week absences and several defenses that have become clear targets. Jared Goff and Joe Burrow are off, while the availability of Caleb Williams and Lamar Jackson remains unsettled, increasing the appeal of matchup-based streaming options.
The adjusted matchup model measures each defense against the quality of offenses it faced over its previous five games rather than relying solely on raw seasonal totals. A positive Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed figure signals a favorable opponent for that position; a negative figure indicates a more restrictive matchup.
Quick facts
- Kirk Cousins draws Buffalo in the week’s highest projected-total game, set at 53.5 points.
- Tony Pollard faces an Indianapolis defense coming off a 36.8-point fantasy performance allowed to Jaylen Warren.
- Green Bay’s Christian Watson and Matthew Golden get a Dallas secondary vulnerable to big plays downfield.
- Dallas Goedert returns home against Carolina after posting a 24% target share in his first game back from a knee injury.
- Trevor Lawrence and Brenton Strange face difficult Houston matchups in London on Sunday morning.
Quarterback outlook
Cousins is positioned as a useful Week 6 streamer when the Raiders host the Bills. He enters as the QB11 in fantasy scoring and ranks ninth in passer rating, while Buffalo has permitted three quarterback outings of at least 25 fantasy points.
Only Detroit and Washington have also given up that many 25-point quarterback performances. The Bills are allowing 26.8 completions per game, the league’s second-highest rate, and Las Vegas is a 5.5-point underdog in a game expected to produce offense.
Brock Purdy, facing the Commanders on Monday night, and Jordan Love, against the Cowboys on Sunday night, are other favorable quarterback options.
Lawrence is a risk against Houston in London at 9:30 a.m. ET Sunday. His 21.74-point output in London last week was boosted heavily by late-game production, with 43% of it coming while Jacksonville trailed during the fourth quarter.
He has played well at times but has not delivered steady fantasy results. Lawrence has averaged 11.6 fantasy points across 10 career starts against the Texans, including only 8.2 per game in four meetings from 2024 through 2025.
Running back outlook
Pollard has a strong opening to operate as an RB2 at Indianapolis, particularly with Jahmyr Gibbs, Aaron Jones Sr. and Chase Brown all on bye. The Colts have yielded two of the five highest individual running back fantasy totals of the season, including Warren’s 36.8 points in Week 5.
Indianapolis ranks among the most generous defenses in both fantasy points per rushing attempt and points per running back target. That creates paths for Pollard as both a runner and receiver.
Rhamondre Stevenson against the Jets, Cam Skattebo against the Saints and Green Bay’s MarShawn Lloyd versus Dallas also carry favorable matchup appeal.
Quinshon Judkins has enough workload to remain in the RB2 conversation, playing 61% of Cleveland’s snaps and handling 58% of its rushing attempts. Those shares rank 17th and 14th among backs, respectively, but his efficiency has not followed.
Among backs with at least 30 carries, Judkins’ 3.0 yards per carry and 4.1% explosive-run rate are each third from the bottom. He also has a 19% stuff rate, a concerning profile before meeting Baltimore.
The Ravens rank fourth in adjusted points allowed to running backs and sixth in run-stop rate against the position at 29.0%. Judkins’ volume may survive the matchup, but his upside is limited.
Wide receiver outlook
Love’s success on deep throws against Chicago puts Watson and Golden in focus for the Cowboys matchup. Love threw for 256 yards on passes traveling at least 20 yards downfield in Week 5, the third-highest total recorded in the 20-year tracking database.
Chicago entered that game 31st in passer rating allowed on deep passes. Dallas has not been much stronger, ranking 28th in that category and allowing an opposing wide receiver to exceed 15 fantasy points in each of the past four weeks.
Watson and Golden therefore have a realistic route to high-end production if Green Bay again attacks vertically. Mike Evans of the 49ers against Washington, Las Vegas’ Tre Tucker against Buffalo and Carolina’s Jalen Coker at Philadelphia are other receivers with favorable setups.
Michael Wilson’s matchup at the Rams is more problematic. Following the Marvin Harrison Jr. trade, Wilson’s route participation declined from 96% over the opening four games to 85% in Week 5, while his target share fell from 29% to 15%.
Kendrick Bourne and Jalen Brooks also took meaningful offensive roles. Wilson remains Jacoby Brissett’s preferred wideout on throws, but Trey McBride has functioned as Arizona’s primary receiving option.
The Rams have been especially difficult on opposing No. 1 wide receivers, posting a league-best minus-5.6 adjusted points allowed against that role. Cornerback Trent McDuffie’s play has been a key factor in that result.
Tight end outlook
Goedert returned from a knee injury with 9.8 fantasy points and a 24% target share against Jacksonville in London. He served as an important option for Jalen Hurts while DeVonta Smith was sidelined by a hamstring issue.
Smith’s Week 6 status remains important, but Goedert has a substantially friendlier opponent in Carolina even if Philadelphia’s top receiver returns. The Panthers have already allowed three tight ends to record their season-best fantasy outputs: Cole Kmet with 11.5 points in Week 1, Harold Fannin Jr. with 24.1 in Week 3 and Sam LaPorta with 22.4 in Week 4.
Brenton Strange has been productive for Jacksonville, ranking 13th among tight ends at 10.1 fantasy points per game. His 19% target share ranks 10th at the position, and his 81% catch rate is fourth best.
That production places Strange near the weekly TE1 line, but Houston is built to reduce tight end ceilings. The Texans carry a minus-3.2 adjusted points-allowed mark against tight ends, have been far more vulnerable to wide receivers at plus-6.5, and have allowed only one red-zone target to the position this season.
