Minnesota Wild players got a taste of the football atmosphere Sunday, leading the crowd in the Vikings’ pregame skol clap before Minnesota’s 39-22 season-opening win over the Green Bay Packers.

Joel Eriksson Ek, Kirill Kaprizov, Jonas Brodin and goaltender Jesper Wallstedt were on hand to fire up the building ahead of the second half. Wearing custom Vikings jerseys, the four Wild representatives led the signature chant as Minnesota tried to swing momentum against Green Bay.

The football club trailed 19-10 at the break, then turned the afternoon around in a big way. Minnesota pulled off the comeback and opened its season with a 39-22 victory over the Packers.
The Wild contingent had helped set the tone for a loud second half, with the crowd getting its chance to celebrate another Minnesota win by the final whistle.

Minnesota will soon shift the attention back to the rink. The Wild begin their own regular season Thursday, Oct. 1, when they host the Nashville Predators at 8 p.m. ET. The game will air on MINNHL and SCRIPPS.
