Los Angeles Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson has been suspended for two games after an altercation with Buffalo Bills linebacker Bradley Chubb following Monday night’s 37-34 Rams loss.
The NFL ruled that Jackson violated its sportsmanship rules when he struck Chubb in the face during a brief postgame confrontation. Players had been exchanging handshakes and jerseys when the incident unfolded, with television cameras still carrying on-field interviews. Teammates separated Jackson and Chubb quickly.
In its disciplinary explanation, the league said the action fell under Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1, covering conduct that goes against commonly accepted standards of sportsmanship.
- Alaric Jackson, Rams LT: Suspended two games for unsportsmanlike conduct; eligible to appeal.
- Bradley Chubb, Bills LB: Involved in the postgame confrontation with Jackson.
Jackson, 28, has started all five Los Angeles games this season. Since joining the Rams as an undrafted free agent from Iowa in 2021, he has made 56 starts across 62 appearances.
This is the second suspension of Jackson’s NFL career. He also received a two-game ban in 2024 for violating the league’s personal conduct policy, after a civil lawsuit alleged that he recorded sexual activity without consent.
Jackson was arrested June 9 on suspicion of felony domestic violence. That matter was placed into a prefiling diversion program, a development that could allow him to avoid criminal charges. The NFL has not announced whether it will impose further discipline connected to that case.
Week ahead
Unless the suspension is overturned on appeal, Jackson will miss the Rams’ Week 6 home game against the Arizona Cardinals and their Week 7 road matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders.
