Alexis Blin Joins Lausanne-Sport After Palermo Exit

Alexis Blin has taken the next step of his European career, swapping free agency for a new challenge across the border in Switzerland. The 30-year-old French midfielder has joined Lausanne-Sport after leaving Palermo, reuniting with a coach who knows his game well.

The move

Lausanne-Sport have signed Blin on a one-year contract, with two further years included as options, meaning the agreement can run until 2027.

The former Le Mans academy player had been without a club since his Palermo deal ended on 1 September. He now joins a Lausanne side sitting last in the Swiss Super League, in 12th place, with the blue-and-white club turning to his experience for the season ahead.

Lausanne welcomed the midfielder and wished him success in his new colours in its announcement on Tuesday.

Blin will work again under Luka Elsner, the Slovenian coach who previously managed him at Amiens. The midfielder will also find familiar French-football faces in the Lausanne squad.

  • Nicolas Cozza — French defender at Lausanne-Sport
  • Enzo Molebe — French player in the Lausanne-Sport group

The French season around it

Blin arrives in Switzerland with substantial Ligue 1 experience, having made 133 appearances in the French top flight.

His route through French football began at Le Mans before spells with Toulouse and Amiens. The reunion with Elsner offers a familiar tactical reference point as he joins a Lausanne team searching for a lift from the bottom of the Super League table.
