Atalanta welcome Venezia to the New Balance Arena in the penultimate fixture of Serie A’s sixth round, with both benches carrying the weight of an unsettled opening to the season.
The decision
Maurizio Sarri has made changes after three consecutive defeats, keeping Marco Carnesecchi in goal and selecting a back line of Raoul Bellanova, Giorgio Scalvini, Rasmus Kristensen and Davide Zappacosta.
Franck Kessié and Ederson are chosen in midfield. Ahead of them, Eljif Elmas, Charles De Ketelaere and Tommaso Rowe will support Nikola Krstovic, who leads the Atalanta attack.
Venezia coach Giovanni Stroppa is still seeking his side’s first league point. Filip Stankovic starts in goal, behind a defensive trio of Moreno, Halhal and Juan Jesus.
Hainaut and Correia are named on the flanks, with Kike Perez, Sohm and Basic in the central areas. The visiting forward partnership is formed by Yeboah and Adams.
Sunday’s picture
The match forms part of Serie A’s sixth matchday and offers Atalanta an opportunity to halt a three-game losing run on home ground. For Venezia, the task is more immediate: turning their search for a first point of the campaign into a result.
