Barcelona Youth Edge Galatasaray to Revive UEFA Youth League Campaign

Barcelona’s youth side revived their UEFA Youth League campaign with a disciplined 1-0 win away to Galatasaray in Istanbul, responding to their opening-match defeat against Feyenoord with three valuable points.

What the night decided

Pol Planas’ team had begun the competition with a 2-1 home loss to Feyenoord and arrived in Turkey needing a result to get off the mark. They found it through Pedro Rodríguez, whose 18th-minute penalty proved decisive.

Barcelona protected that narrow advantage through an exacting second half as Galatasaray pressed for an equaliser. The hosts could not find a way through, and their late hopes were further damaged when Yusuf Kahraman was sent off in the 86th minute.

The final whistle gave Barcelona their first points of the Youth League season and a timely lift after the setback on matchday one. For Galatasaray, the missed opportunity came despite sustained attempts to level the contest on home ground.

The next round

Barcelona will continue their European campaign against PSG, carrying the confidence of an away victory and a clean sheet from Istanbul.
