Bologna’s first league win of the season arrived at the Via del Mare, where Raffaele Palladino’s side showed greater conviction than Lecce and left with a deserved 2-1 victory. The result moves the Emilia-Romagna club to within one point of the Salento team, giving fresh weight to a campaign that had needed a first breakthrough.
The visitors set the tone from the opening stages. Bologna played with purpose and clarity, taking command of the afternoon well before Riccardo Orsolini supplied its defining image. In the 17th minute, Nicolo Cambiaghi found the winger, who produced a superb overhead kick to put Bologna ahead. It was a finish beyond any tactical diagram, but it gave Palladino’s players both the lead and the confidence to manage the match on their terms.
Lecce struggled to impose themselves for long periods, and Bologna appeared comfortable until the 64th minute. A long ball forward from Veiga created an opening for Fatah, whose run and finish brought Di Francesco’s side level against the run of play. The equaliser threatened to change the mood inside the stadium, but it did not alter the balance of the contest.
Bologna responded by returning to the front foot rather than protecting the point. Ten minutes later, Cambiaghi delivered again, providing his second assist of the afternoon for Enem, who converted in the 75th minute to restore the visitors’ advantage.
Orsolini’s acrobatic opener will remain the goal most remembered from the match, while Cambiaghi’s two assists underlined Bologna’s threat in the final third. Yet the wider significance belonged to Palladino and his team: their first Serie A victory, earned through a performance that was more assured than the scoreline alone suggests. Lecce, meanwhile, will reflect on an equaliser that briefly revived them without changing the underlying direction of the game.
