The Warriors have moved to lock in Brandin Podziemski as part of their next wave, reaching agreement Saturday morning on a five-year, $110 million rookie extension for the young guard.
The contract carries a mutual option in its fifth season, giving Golden State and Podziemski a shared decision point at the back end of the deal. The 23-year-old, selected with the 19th pick of the 2023 draft out of Santa Clara, has steadily expanded his role across his first three NBA seasons.
Podziemski posted 13.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game in 2025-26, shooting 45.5% from the field while appearing in all 82 regular-season games. His scoring average has climbed in each of his three years with the club, and the 6-foot-4 guard has become one of the younger rotation pieces Golden State is counting on beyond its established core.
Warriors keep their roster foundation together
The extension continues an offseason built around retaining both experience and younger legs. Golden State had already extended Stephen Curry in September, then brought back a veteran group that includes Draymond Green, Al Horford, Kristaps Porziņģis, De’Anthony Melton and Gary Payton II.
With Podziemski now under long-term control, the Warriors have secured a guard who has been available every night, contributed on the glass for his position and shown enough offensive growth to become a meaningful part of the club’s future rotation.
