Milwaukee turned last year’s National League Championship Series result on its head, finishing a four-game sweep of the Dodgers and sending the Brewers to their second World Series.
The Dodgers had taken the 2025 NLCS in four straight on their way to a second consecutive championship. One October later, the Brewers answered with the same clean-series outcome, only with the clubs reversed.
Quick facts
- The Brewers swept Los Angeles, 4-0, in the 2026 NLCS.
- Milwaukee is headed to the franchise’s second World Series.
- Game 1 is scheduled for Oct. 23 at 8 p.m. ET on FOX, FOX Deportes and FOX One.
- Both the 2025 Dodgers and 2026 Brewers posted 149 plate appearances, 128 at-bats and 32 hits in their NLCS sweeps.
- Each club hit .250 and reached base at a .347 clip during its series.
The resemblance between the two sweeps did not stop at the final scoreline. Both clubs piled up the same number of plate appearances, at-bats and hits across four games, producing identical batting-average and on-base marks.
There was a little daylight in the power numbers. The Dodgers hit six homers during their 2025 romp, while Milwaukee went deep seven times this fall.
Garrett Mitchell supplied two of those Brewers home runs. Jake Bauers, Jackson Chourio, William Contreras, Brice Turang and David Hamilton added one apiece.
Even the overall offensive production landed in the same neighborhood. Los Angeles finished its 2025 NLCS with an .808 OPS; Milwaukee carried a .792 OPS through its sweep.
For the Brewers, the numbers are a fine bit of October trivia. The larger payoff is a clubhouse that has erased last season’s disappointment and earned a trip to the biggest stage in the game.
