C.J. Stroud and Caleb Williams headlined the NFL’s Week 6 Players of the Week after both quarterbacks delivered decisive performances in division and conference matchups, while Jalen Ramsey, Martin Emerson Jr., Julius Chestnut and Chad Ryland rounded out the league’s weekly award winners.
Stroud claimed AFC Offensive Player of the Week after guiding Houston past Jacksonville, 34-31, in London. The Texans quarterback completed 24 of 34 throws for 312 yards, three touchdowns and one interception, producing a 116.3 passer rating. His late drive set up the 49-yard field goal that beat the Jaguars and gave Stroud the fourth AFC Offensive Player of the Week award of his career.
Williams earned NFC Offensive Player of the Week in his first game back from a three-game absence caused by a hamstring injury. He went 30-for-36 in Chicago’s 31-23 win over Atlanta, finishing with 305 passing yards, a 14-yard touchdown to Colston Loveland and a 111.2 rating. Williams completed 83.3 percent of his attempts and collected the second weekly award of his career, following his Week 3 honor last season.
Defensive and special teams standouts
Ramsey was selected as the AFC’s top defensive player after Pittsburgh’s 26-19 overtime victory against Tampa Bay. His fourth-down sack on the final snap ended the game, capping a performance that included 10 tackles, two sacks and four tackles for loss.
Emerson took NFC Defensive Player of the Week after helping New Orleans hold off the Giants, 34-27. The Saints defensive back recorded seven tackles, broke up four passes and intercepted two throws, with both takeaways coming after halftime as New Orleans protected its lead.
Chestnut received AFC Special Teams Player of the Week recognition for his role in Tennessee’s first win of the season, a 26-20 result over Indianapolis. He blocked a Colts punt during the fourth quarter, and Tennessee recovered it for the touchdown that put the Titans ahead. Chestnut also added two tackles on special teams.
Ryland was the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week after scoring every Arizona point in an 18-16 upset of the Rams. The Cardinals kicker went 6-for-6, connecting from 34, 30, 22, 38 and 27 yards before drilling the winning field goal from 43 yards. Ryland, who was named Special Teams Player of the Month in October 2024, secured the first weekly award of his four-year NFL career.
