Leeds began on the front foot. Jayden Bogle was denied from close range in the 14th minute, while Ethan Ampadu and Okafor also had efforts blocked as the home side found space around the Newcastle box.
Newcastle were forced into an early reshuffle when Nico González went off injured, with Sean Steur introduced in the 19th minute. The visitors had their moments from set pieces, but Leeds goalkeeper James Trafford dealt with efforts from Harvey Barnes and Lewis Hall.

Touré struck in the 90th minute, steering a low left-footed finish inside the left post from the middle of the area. It changed the final arithmetic, not the mood of a night owned by Leeds.
